Scandinavian origins with an eye on the future
Svensson Markspelle's business is based on a wide range of products that stem from a Scandinavian design tradition and over 120 years of experience in textile crafts. To ensure we're at the forefront of technology, quality, design and new or improved materials, we are constantly implementing innovation processes linked to ISO 9001-14001 certification in which our design department works together with our production processes of dyeing, weaving and knitting. The design department may also be complemented by both internal expertise in the form of engineers, chemists and technicians, and external expertise such as the Swedish School of Textiles in Borås, Smart Textiles, Swerea Research and the Ångström Laboratory/Uppsala University.
Demand-controlled production
Svensson Markspelle owns the entire manufacturing process – from yarn to finished fabric, which gives our design department considerable opportunities to influence and develop the range. We work with a number of different categories of clients and projects; from furniture manufacturers, architects, interior design consultants and healthcare to theatres, opera companies, shipping and rail. We therefore work closely with our customers and our market so that we can quickly interpret and respond to needs. When we need to carry out tests and experiments, we have access to our own research laboratory. All development and production takes place at our factory in Kinna.
